About Me

Hi there, and welcome to my little corner of the Internet!  My name is Amanda Faith.  I am the third of four children and a 23 year-old homeschool-grad.  My home is, and always has been, in the Tennessee Valley and I have the accent to prove it!  ;)  (Although, some people tend to hear a heavy Alabama strain in it...not sure where that came from!)

I currently work two part-time jobs.  One as a contract worker for an attorney in downtown Chattanooga and the other doing work for the County Attorney's office.  I am embarking on the long journey of working my way through a paralegal degree.  Exciting, yet terrifying!

When I actually have the time, I love to create things.  One of my greatest loves is sewing.  I made my first solo garment when I was 13 and I have been hooked ever since!    I also love to paint, crochet, quilt, embroider, cook...really, anything that allows me to be creative and show off the finished product!

More rather random facts about me:

I was miraculously saved by the grace of my Heavenly Father.

I was a spoiled preacher's kid until I was four.  ;)

My hair used to be naturally curly.  Now, it is naturally wavy.  The older I get the straighter and more red-ish it gets, so I am trying to learn how to handle semi-straight hair.  I've had to change products, brushing technics, and even the way I wash my hair.  It's so hard growing up!

I have played the piano since age six and given lessons since age sixteen.

I LOVE reading.  History mostly.  I love studying Greek, Roman, and Egyptian history as well as the American Reconstruction Era after the War Between the States.

I inherited the ability to laugh to the point of sobbing over something that really wasn't that funny to begin with from my mother's family.  Family get-togethers are interesting...

People tell me I have a Scarlett O'Hara-like accent, but I think they need their hearing checked.  Of course, I do like to go a little overboard when there are Northern or Midwestern visitors present, just for fun!  ;)

I am taller than my older and younger sister AND my mother and I'm not the least bit proud of it...ok, maybe I am a little bit...

I absolutely love old movies.  If it has Fred Astaire, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart or John Wayne in it, I've probably seen it.

I am also a total geek.  I love Star Trek (Out of Darkness was A. Ma. Zing!) and Doctor Who.

I am a night owl who wishes she was an early bird.  That is one dream that has yet to come true.

I have the gift of the gab. :D

I once gave myself a black eye...  There is a story behind this one, but it's more fun to just let you wonder!

I take WAY to many pictures and I'm too lazy to save them to disks so they are all bogging down my computer...

I pretend that I can play the organ.  It's actually pretty easy to fake if people can't see that you aren't using the foot pedals. ;)  When I first learned the organ, I was too short to reach them.  Now that I can, I just don't have the coordination!

Whenever I hear a Brit refer to all Americans as "Yankees" I indignantly set them straight.  Then of course I have to explain that it isn't called the "Civil War", it's called "The War of Northern Aggression" ;)

When I start painting, I'm an obsessed artist until it's finished.  I am also a very messy artist.  Did you know that it is possible to get paint behind your ears without knowing?

The farthest west I've ever been is Nashville.  Yeah...I need to get out more!

I love listening to Frank Sinatra's voice.

I don't have a favorite color. *gasp*

Pintrest is my daily "vacation".  I am slightly addicted... Slightly, mind you.

I am an encyclopedia of useless information.  Ask my family.

I am a hopeless romantic.

I play the piano to relax whenever I'm frustrated or irritated.

I have always felt that I was born about 7 decades too late...

I am Reformed and I love to read absolutely anything written by the Puritans.

I have a face like an open book.  I couldn't lie even if I tried.

I go through books like they grow on trees.  Oh wait...they do!

I love to meet new people, so don't stay a stranger for long!
